"The Lighthouse-Keeper's Daughter". The film premiered on April 2 1918 at Brunkeberg Theatre in Stockholm . The film was to be the last feature film that was released from Hasselblad film before it went up in the newly founded Film Industry Skandia. Filming took place at the Hasselblad Studio in Otterhällan with exteriors from Böttö lighthouse outside Gothenburg by Gösta Stäring.

The year is 1885, Christina Nilsson sings "Fourteen years I believe certain that I was" in the Grand Hotel's Great Hall . She also sings from the balcony of the hotel and the panic arising among listeners outside the hotel. In Norway, talks about the dissolution of the Union and the Swedish socialists with Hjalmar Branting (Victor Sjöström) is in the lead for independence.

In 1803 the Swedish inventor John Ericsson is born. After a military career he went to England and became one of the first builders of locomotives. Despite large debts, he invents the propeller. In 1839 he crosses the Atlantic and builds ships for the US Navy. When the US civil war breaks out, the Federation needs a ship to match the Confederate 'Merrimac' and preventing the Confederation from exporting cotton to Europe. Ericsson builds the 'Monitor', a ship the Federation needs to win the war.

The waitress Inga is pregnant and the father, the sailor Edvin, tells her to find someone who can handle the child instead of him.

The comic misadventures of two young boys and an anti-militaristic grocer who are recruited under protest for naval training.

The wholesaler Blomberg is a regular customer of "Parfumerie Marie Danielsson". He often buys perfume for his many girlfriends. Blomberg's driver Bengt Lundgren is in love with the shop assistant Eva Bergström. Bengt deceives his boss by telling him that his car has broken, then he can go out with Eva.

Famous chef Carl-Ulrik Johansson (Erik 'Bullen' Berglund) comes home to Sweden after twenty years abroad and finds out he never finished his compulsory military service. Consequently he is forced to join the army as a conscript. He has many fights with his sergeant Göran Persson (Thor Modéen).

The suicidal gambler Tom Haget receives an invitation to the D.L.D.C. (The Living Dead Club), whose members apparently see it as their task to help each other to "end this empty earthly existence" according to a lottery system. At the same time, an acquaintance of Tom Haget, Lieutenant Dick Huntley, receives an assignment from his superiors to go to a distant destination with a large sum of money. However, Huntley is hit by a car, unconscious and without ID documents he ends up in a hospital, is reported missing, and it is widely suspected that he ran away with the money. Confused and desperate Huntley meets Haget and gets an invitation to the Living Dead Club.

Calle Lundgren is a shop assistant and spends most days as errand boy for Nisse and flirting with the ladies, especially a girl called Amanda. One day Calle read in the newspaper that he is the sole heir to a Swedish American millionaire who has just died.

A private investigator is invited to come to an address. He realizes that it is a trap and take some precautions before going there. Once in place, he is overpowered and tied to a chair with a time bomb.

Jean Bazard (Carl Barcklind) and the lawyer Alphonse Carrel (Arvid Hammarlund) are rivals of the beautiful Rose Legrange (Maja Cassel), but Bazard wins her love. Carrel is more successful in his shameful economic speculations together with banker Leroux (Manne Göthson), who is Roses's uncle.

Elinor Petipon has been arrested as suspected of the murder of her husband. She seems to have lost memory, and confronted with the husband's body, she does not even recognize him. The hearing judge decides that she shall be detained in custody for observation.

Countess Hedvig von Wärnfelt (born Wärnfelt), receives her orphan's granddaughter Marianne to educate her in tukt and her reverence. Marianne is an iron and vibrant young girl, who also carries theater grills. The Countess is staggered over her uneducated facials and treats her severely, hard and joyless.

The story about a Stockholm wholesaler and his three daughters.

Torsten and Sven are in love with Inger, who prefers Sven. Due to jealousy, Torsten destroys the radio system aboard the fishing boat as Sven will release the following morning. During the fishing season it blows up, but as the radio is not working, the crew does not know anything about the danger.

Director Hugo Berner and Doctor Olof Mellgren have come out of the theater where they have just shown the classic play Pygmalion. Director Mellgren claims that, like Higgins in the play, he can turn a harbor worker into the gentleman.

About the Swedish trickster and thief Lars "Lasse-Maja" Molin. He often disguised himself and lived as a woman in 1800s. He takes place as a kitchen boy for a bailiff and manages to prevent him from taking over the cottage where his beloved lives. His true identity will, however, be disclosed and he is forced to become an outlaw.

Danilo invites Hanna Glawari and the two dance a pair of rollers from the operetta's second act. The photographer has waved quite quickly, so the movements are remarkably slow. At one point, both outside picture ends.

A stateless lawyer comes with his son Karel and his two daughters Vanja and Sonja as refugees to Stockholm. No one gets work permit in Sweden and the family's problems grows to not just financially. The idleness and hopelessness towards the future is almost worse and that can lead into dangerous paths.

The sailor Axel Nord is asked by his captain to do him a favor before his leave begins. Captain Rundholm wants him to give a letter to his niece in Stockholm. As Nord discovers, it isn't easy to find somebody you never have met, and it isn't made easier by the fact that some crooks believe that the letter contains evidence proving embezzlement in the shipping company.

A couple of Swedish men do business across the border involving both Russians and Poles.
