Janala tells the story about a man, Bimal, who decides to give a little back to his old school despite the fact he has very little money himself. As a child Bimal had a favourite corner classroom where he used to sit and daydream out of a broken window, and so when he finds himself back in his old school he feels compelled to replace the window.
Anwar, a maverick detective works in a small detective agency in Kolkata. He has a habit of getting involved in the personal lives of his cases. In one such instance, he takes a case in his rural homeland and is forced to confront his own romantic tragedy.
Jagdish leads an ordinary life with his wife, Savitri, but, one day, a man is murdered before his eyes and he fails to save him. He then takes up the identity of Alfred, a vigilante, to fight crime.
