Nadin Al-khalidi

Recorded at Stallet in Stockholm, Tarabband delivers a richly textured journey through Arabic folk, Mediterranean rhythms and contemporary world music. Led by Iraqi-Egyptian singer Nadin Al Khalidi, the group combines expressive vocals, poetic storytelling and hypnotic instrumental interplay. The concert moves between intimate reflection and irresistible groove, transforming stories of exile, survival, longing and rebirth into a vivid, border-crossing musical experience full of passion and hope.

Tarabband’s concert at the 2021 Celebrating Our Diversity Festival presents the Malmö-based group’s distinctive meeting of Middle Eastern and European musical traditions. Led by the Iraqi-Egyptian singer and multi-instrumentalist Nadin Al Khalidi, the performance combines deeply personal storytelling with powerful ensemble playing. And the music moves between Arabic folk influences, world music, jazz-inflected passages and contemporary acoustic textures. Where Al Khalidi’s expressive vocals gives the concert its emotional center.
