One day, while going to sell his cow in the souk, he is attacked by thieves who rob him of his only property. Mhaned decides to take his revenge by taking justice into his own hands. He takes his friend Biga as an assistant to track down the thieves and their leader, who is called Da Hmad. It is considered one of the first amazigh-spoken films

The film centers on “Dounit”, a beautiful mysterious woman whose arrival disrupts the harmony of an Amazigh village. She attracts three shepherds—Muslim, Christian, and Jewish—and eventually people from different social and religious positions become caught up in competing for her. The character of Dounit works symbolically as an embodiment of “the worldly life” (الدنيا) and its temptations.
