Biography
Miles Carter is a filmmaker based in Italy.
His work sits at the intersection of observational cinema and psychological portraiture — films built from stillness, withheld information, and the particular silence of people who have stopped expecting things to change. He is drawn to peripheral spaces, solitary figures, and the unease that lives beneath ordinary surfaces.
Working with minimal crew and natural light, Carter develops his films from the landscape outward — finding in anonymous streets, empty parks, and forgotten infrastructure the visual language for interior states that resist articulation.
His debut short film, Somewhere Else, is currently in production — a black and white study of adolescence and absence, shot on location in northern Italy.
