A rebellious young woman is thrown out by her wealthy, but marbly parents and gets into a nightmare of poverty, prostitution and sickness.
Five ghosts occupy the titular Motley Hall. Each hails from a different era and all—save for newly deceased Matt—are unable to leave the confines of the building.
