One Day in June

On a rainy day, Zhang Xin, a filmmaker who suffers from obsession deeply, comes across a strange girl, carrying a durian. He can’t help but walk towards her. This beautiful bubble breaks once the girl turns out to be the reflection of the obsession.

Yu Tian (played by Hu Tian) is a senior this year. He hasn't returned home for a few years while studying in a big city. The estrangement between him and his mother (Lin Jiehua) is somehow getting bigger and bigger. He is immersed in his artistic dreams and is not practical, but his mother, who has always been conservative, does not understand. His friends remained the same, still the same young people in the small town. Friends booed that he would be the most promising one among them, but he himself was convinced. He told his sister (played by Sun Nan) that he would go to the big city to make a fortune.

The film is about a woman from a rural area and works in a small restaurant as a cleaner with very low pay. As she has to support her family (mother and daughter), she has no money for herself for better makeup or dress up. She has low esteem. She later was fired by the boss. Because of no money and no home, she goes to the massage parlor and works there a sex worker. It happens that the first customer is the chef of previous restaurant. She has admired him for a while. In this first sex exchange, she is well satisfied both emotionally as well as economically. She starts sex work this way and becomes more confident.

If It’s Not Now, Then When? mostly takes place in an apartment inhabited by three members of a family (though never at the same time): mother Pearlly Chua (from Tsai Ming-liang’s I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone), daughter Tan Bee Hung and young son Kenny Gan. Their father seems recently to have died. The mother leaves early and returns late, out on long walks in the park with a lover whom the daughter and her best friend try to spy on. The daughter pecks away at a computer at work and has a desultory affair with her married boss, which he carries on between his business and family phone calls. And the son breaks into cars and “recycles” the electronics he finds.

Four college students from Shandong University of Technology planned to make a documentary about the folk culture of ghosts and spirits. They went to a village in Heze City, Shandong Province, and made some interviews with local villagers. During the interviews, they heard a lot of local weird tales. The narrator travels the audience with her emotions that served as the passages connect each chamber by making the tour and detours.

Andy is a novelist who works from home. One day, a girl mysteriously appears in his toilet. She claims to be from the future and needs his help. Her name is Pomegranate.

The C-list TV actor Jonnie Zhang decides to change career as an estate agent. While preparing for the interview, he hires a cleaner to tidy up his long non-visited mansion. A cleaner receives a task to a vacant house, and she decides to stay over night realizing that the bus service has been suspended. A series of processes weave a dragnet, covering the lives of animals, and also trapped in the future of human beings. If we exchange identities with animals, will you choose to suffer or fight?

The film tells about an artist named Banpo, who suddenly returned to Songzhuang one day in 2019, silently packed hundreds of his paintings, packed his luggage, attended the worship service, watched an exhibition, and then said goodbye to his old friends. Finally, he completely left the story of Songzhuang in a quiet early morning. This story seems to be during the process of documenting artist Banpo moving out，the director reveal a huge change in the environment the artist lived in. As if the artist Banpo has foreseen the turmoil of 2020(as Coronavirus epidemic spreading across the world, a massive demolition began at Songzhuang Art District. Many artists, like Banpo, have left Songzhuang. The small town once was famous for Chinese contemporary art 20 years ago, is now gone.)

This video work is a fictional online Feng Shui guideline. A Feng Shui master on-screen in connecting to a person's brain to observe the image fragments in it and, based on that, try to give advice. It turns out to become a dispute between the two. Composed with images from real places like modern residences, high-speed train stations, national enterprises in mid of change, and mining factories, the video gives a dizzying visual effect. The artist narrates the words mixed with humorous, personal, and authoritarian languages. The work concerns the complex relationship between medium, feelings and narratives, and how a personal destiny can be narrated in relation to specific spatial-physicality.
