UFC Fight Night 268: Moreno vs. Kavanagh was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that took place on February 28, 2026, at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. A flyweight bout between former two-time UFC Flyweight Champion Brandon Moreno (also former LFA Flyweight Champion) and Asu Almabayev was scheduled to headline the event. However, Almabayev withdrew due to a hand injury and was replaced by Lone'er Kavanagh.

UFC on Fox 30: Alvarez vs. Poirier 2 was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship held on July 28, 2018 at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. A lightweight rematch between former two-time Bellator Lightweight Champion and former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier was the main event of the card. Their first bout at UFC 211 in May 2017 was ruled a no contest after Alvarez hit a downed Poirier with illegal knees in the second round.

UFC 302: Makhachev vs. Poirier was a mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that took place on June 1, 2024, at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey, United States. A UFC Lightweight Championship bout between current champion Islam Makhachev and former interim champion Dustin Poirier headlined the event.

The event was expected to be headlined by a 145 lbs UFC Featherweight Championship bout between current champion José Aldo and top contender Conor McGregor. Aldo pulled out of the bout and a interim championship bout between Chad Mendes and McGregor took place at this event. The UFC received official medical confirmation from several doctors that Aldo did not have a broken rib as he claimed and the biggest problem was the weight cutting process being complicated by the injury. This was confirmed when a release of an Xray tied to an old injury was released by Aldo's camp.
