Odds & Ends is a sly comment on the collage film and Beat culture. To discarded travel and advertising footage found at a local film laboratory, Belson Shimane added a mélange of animation—assemblages, cutouts, color fields, and line drawings—and faux hipster narration by Jacobs (credited via the anagram Rheny Bojacs) punctuated by a bongo backing. Strung together with doublespeak and non sequiturs, the monologue skirts the edge of nonsense as Jacobs waxes on about poetry, jazz, “reaching the public,” “having a good time,” and—although “money doesn’t count”—the “possibility of subsidy” through grants. Footage of champagne, tropical beaches, and exotic peoples intermingle with rhythmic drawings and stop-motion flights of fancy. The visuals race on through dazzling transformations, both amplifying and undercutting the patter. —National Film Preservation Foundation. A little story from a blue-collar neighborhood. Lina, a middle-aged lady who never leaves the balcony of her house, intervenes in everything that happens within her visual field. People passing by in front of her building, neighbors from the apartments across the street, everyone realize that whatever they do, Lina is watching day and night and intervenes: From throwing a bandage from her balcony when an accident takes place to giving parking advice or notifying the police for a burglary. Some are surprised by her attitude, but most are annoyed by her constant gaze on them. Until Lina loses her son in a car accident and does not go out to her balcony ever since. The neighborhood is not the same anymore.

While on their quest to stop the Demon King, the violinist Hamel, the pianist Raiel, the magess Flute and the female warrior Sizer stop in a small kingdom and destroy a rampaging monster. While giving the four a heroes' welcome, the king and queen explain that their daughter has been kidnapped by a monster living in a nearby castle. They agree to go and rescue the hostage princess and defeat the monster. However, the enemy's castle is heavily guarded...

This film essay, shot on the remotest and most isolated island in the Adriatic, observes the primordial seascape and the layered environmental changes that surround it.

Tadashi Matsushita has recently entered the Kansai Fifth Technical High School and joined its notorious karate club. There he meets his captain, Yoshiyuki Takagi, an incredibly strong individual. Feared and respected throughout Osaka, Takagi is deep down an honorable and compassionate guy despite his violent endeavors.

Carlos Meléndez is unemployed, and finding himself without basic services such as gas, water and electricity. For twelve hours, he will have to endure and battle against the various ills of a congested city - bureaucratic secretaries of ill will, punk criminals, policemen, among others- in order to seek the respect of his peers.
