Prodigy

Biography

Albert Johnson, better known as “Prodigy,” was a member of the rapping duo ‘Mobb Deep.’ He belonged to a family of musicians and studied art and design in Manhattan, where he met Kejuan Muchita. The duo started performing as the ‘Poetical Prophets’ and later became famous as ‘Mobb Deep.’ His friend adopted the stage name “Havoc.” Their studio album, ‘The Infamous,’ was certified “gold,” which was closely followed by the hit albums ‘Hell on Earth’ and ‘Murda Muzik.’ Their music, which portrayed the dark side of New York’s urban landscape, became popular as hardcore gangsta rap. His first solo album, ‘H.N.I.C.,’ was equally popular. Prodigy faced several criminal charges during his career and served a three-and-a-half-year prison term on charges of illegal gun possession. ‘Mobb Deep’ temporarily split during his prison sentence but reunited when Prodigy was released. He suffered from a blood disorder called sickle-cell anemia since birth, and that caused him extreme bouts of pain that he expressed in his number ‘You Can Never Feel My Pain.’ He married Ikesha Dudley, with whom he lived for a short duration. He was hospitalized while performing in Las Vegas due to complications from sickle-cell anemia and died at the age of 42. In his short-lived career, Prodigy proved to be a legend of rap.

Enid Bennett

Biography

From Wikipedia Born in York, Western Australia, Enid Bennett started her film acting career in 1916, first starring in Get-Rich-Quick Wallingford, with two other films that same year. She married American director Sidney Franklin early in her career, but they were divorced shortly thereafter. In 1917, she starred in five films, the most important of which was The Little Brother opposite William Garwood. That film brought her to the attention of studios and led to an increasing number of acting roles. From 1918 to 1921, she starred in twenty-three films, becoming well known and recognizable as an actress. In 1918 she married director Fred Niblo, who later directed the second film version of Ben Hur. In 1922, she starred in only three films, but one of those became her most famous role, the female lead of "Maid Marian" in Robin Hood with Douglas Fairbanks. From 1923 to 1928, she starred in only ten films, as her career had slowed to a crawl. She was a mother by that time, as she and Niblo eventually had three children together. In 1929, her brother Alexander Bennett married actress Frances Lee. The wedding was attended by some of Hollywood's biggest names, including Gloria Swanson and Greta Garbo. That year Bennett starred in only one film, Good Medicine, opposite Edward Everett Horton. Bennett's sisters Marjorie (1896-1982) and Catherine (1901–1978) were also Hollywood film actresses. She made a semi-successful transition to sound films, but saw fewer roles come her way. From 1931 to 1941 she had roles in only seven films, the last of which was uncredited. She retired after 1941, eventually residing with her family in Malibu, California, where she died in 1969 from a heart attack, aged 75.

Jim Wynorski

Biography

Jim Wynorski (born August 14, 1950) is an American screenwriter, director, and producer. Wynorski has been making B-movies and exploitation movies since the early 1980s, and has directed over 150 feature films. His earliest films were released to movie theaters, but his later works have predominantly been released to cable or the straight-to-video market. He often works under pseudonyms such as "Jay Andrews," "Arch Stanton," "H.R. Blueberry," "Tom Popatopolis," and "Noble Henry." His movies often spoof horror films: Cleavagefield, for example, parodies Cloverfield, The Bare Wench Project parodies The Blair Witch Project, and Para-Knockers Activity parodies Paranormal Activity. A character in the film The Final Destination is named after him. In 2009, the documentary Popatopolis, directed by Clay Westervelt and named for one of Wynorski's pseudonyms, chronicled Wynorski during the making of his soft-core horror film, The Witches of Breastwick. The film serves as a partial biography, with clips from many of his previous films and includes interviews with Wynorski, his contemporaries, cast, and crew. In 2016, he directed Nessie & Me, the character Jack O’Grady directly references Wynorski's earlier films Dinocroc vs. Supergator and Piranhaconda when he encounters Nessie at the start of the film, hinting that Nessie & Me is canon to those film series, as well as Monster Cruise, with many characters from it appearing in Nessie & Me as well.
