The Sky Beyond the Hill

The film is set in Lithuania after the Second World War. It shows dramatic events in a small Lithuanian farming community, where people are split between the Soviets and the "brothers in the woods", who are fighting to defend their land from the Soviets after the end of the Second World War.

A detachment of the Polish IFOR forces in Bosnia is led by Major Keller, who is being investigated for insubordination during a patrol in Srebrenica. The investigation is to be led by two arriving officers - Lieutenant Czacki and Major Kusz who will also replace Keller as CO. When the camp's RTO receives a communication from a downed Norwegian chopper, Keller ignores his standing orders and leads a platoon to rescue the crew.

On new year's eve of 2021, John sits alone at the bar, sad and drinking heavily during the lowest points of his life. Until he is visited by the Grim Ripper who hands him a letter with his name on it, a letter that means he will die just as the clock will strike midnight on new year's day, after which the Ripper leaves. Unfazed by the news, he continues his drink until he is greeted by a woman he has never seen before, who has also received a letter from the Ripper and overheard the conversion. During their final moments on earth before new year's day, they both bond, debate, and reflect on their lives.

Inal, who is blind and Ondeng, who has “backwardness”, have to go through winding journeys to and from school. Ondeng's ability to draw sketches makes him always "record" everything he is passionate about: his father's life as a fisherman and the fragile bridge that his friends always walk on. His goal: to build the bridge. When that fragile bridge collapsed while they were crossing, it didn't discourage them.
