Gino Quilico

Biography

Gino Quilico (born April 29, 1955) is a Canadian operatic baritone. Quilico was born in Flushing, New York City in 1955, the son of baritone Louis Quilico and pianist Lina Pizzolongo. He studied at the University of Toronto Opera School from 1976 to 1978, making his operatic debut as Mr. Gobineau in Giancarlo Menotti's The Medium. He performed with the Canadian Opera Company in 1977 and 1979. Quilico continued his studies at the Ecole d'art lyrique of the Paris Opera in 1979–80, then began an international career with performances at the Paris Opera, Covent Garden in London, La Scala in Milan, and the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. At the Metropolitan Opera he created the role of Figaro in The Ghosts of Versailles by John Corigliano in 1991. Quilico was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada in 1992. In 1996, he received the Grammy Award for Best Opera Recording for his recording of Les Troyens by Hector Berlioz with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra. Sean Connery

Biography

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Tomasz Kot

Biography

Tomasz Kot (born 21 April 1977) is a Polish actor. He gained great popularity by portraying singer Ryszard Riedel in Jan Kidawa Błoński's 2005 film "Destined for Blues" as well as for his role as Zbigniew Religa in Łukasz Palkowski's 2014 film "Gods". In 2015, he was awarded the Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis. Most recently, Kot has received award-season buzz for his starring role as Wiktor in Paweł Pawlikowski’s feature "Cold War". The project has earned him a nomination for best actor by the European Film Awards and the movie has been recognized by the Critics' Choice Movie Awards, New York Film Critics Circle, and the National Board of Review in the best foreign language film category. In 2018 Kot appeared in Agnieszka Holland’s "Spoor" and had a starring role in Jaroslaw Marszewski’s “Bikini Blue,” the latter earning him the award for best lead actor at the Milan Film Festival. In 2019 Kot starred in BBC One series "World on Fire" opposite Brian J. Smith, Julia Brown, and Helen Hunt.

Jonathan Harris (born September 22, 1975) is a Canadian actor and comedian from Newfoundland and Labrador. Harris is best known for his roles in the television series Murdoch Mysteries, Still Standing and Hatching, Matching and Dispatching, as well as the films Young Triffie, Moving Day, and Grown Up Movie Star. Harris worked for five summers at the Rising Tide Theatre festival in Trinity Bay, Newfoundland. As well as his television and film work, he has also performed as a comedian at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, Just for Laughs Festival, and the Halifax Comedy Festival, as well as on the CBC Radio comedy series The Debaters. In 2015, he began starring in the summer comedy/reality series Still Standing for CBC Television. He co-hosted the 6th Canadian Screen Awards telecast with Emma Hunter.

American oil tycoon, billionaire. After the death of his father in 1911, he inherited 6 thousand dollars from him. In his youth, he was a professional poker player. In 1934 he founded the Hunt Oil Company. During the Second World War, he was an opponent of the alliance of the United States with the USSR, "openly called in the press for an armistice with Germany." William Wright

Biography

William Wright (January 5, 1911 – January 19, 1949) was an American leading man in films who was most popular in the 1940s when he was typically compared to Clark Gable, whose career was temporarily derailed by World War II. Wright even played Gable's part in a 1945 musical comedy remake of It Happened One Night entitled Eve Knew Her Apples. He also played Philo Vance in Philo Vance Returns (1947) and the title role in King of the Gamblers (1948). Wright's other films include Eadie Was a Lady (1945), Rose of the Yukon (1949), Daughter of the Jungle (1949), and Impact (1949). Wright died from cancer in 1949 at the age of 38.

Jacob McCarthy

Biography

Jacob McCarthy is an Irish actor who is known for his roles in the films The Drummer and the Keeper (2017) and The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021). He has also had recurring roles on the television series A.P. Bio and The Last Summer. McCarthy was born in Dublin, Ireland, in 1993. He studied acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), graduating in 2014. After graduating, he began his acting career in British theatre, appearing in productions of "The Crucible" and "Richard II." McCarthy's first major film role came in 2017, when he was cast as the lead in the film The Drummer and the Keeper. The film is about a teenage boy with Asperger's syndrome who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a reckless musician. McCarthy's performance was praised by critics, and he won the award for Best Actor at the Galway Film Festival. In 2021, McCarthy starred in the film The Tragedy of Macbeth, directed by Joel Coen. The film is an adaptation of the Shakespeare play, and McCarthy played the role of Seyton, a loyal servant to Macbeth. McCarthy's performance was praised by critics, and he was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor – Motion Picture. McCarthy is currently filming the upcoming film The Banshees of Inisherin, directed by Martin McDonagh. The film is about two lifelong friends who become enemies after one of them makes a mistake. McCarthy will play the role of Padraic Súilleabháin, a young man who is caught up in the conflict between the two friends.

David Frizzell is an American country music singer and occasional actor. He is the younger brother of country musician, Lefty Frizzell. His career started in the late 1950s, but his biggest success came in the 1980s. He had several popular duet albums in the 1980s with Shelly West, along with solo efforts. His best-known songs are the solo "I'm Gonna Hire A Wino to Decorate Our Home" and the Shelly West duet "You're The Reason God Made Oklahoma", which was featured in the Clint Eastwood movie Any Which Way You Can.
