Miki has a good job and works in an office. She's been dating Ryosuke and they're happy together... except for the fact that Miki is also in a relationship with her college professor Tanaka. Tanaka is trying to break up with Miki because of his wife, but Miki won't hear of it. Ryosuke is also unfaithful, and he has a one-night stand with Chihiro, who also has a boyfriend. She gives all of the money she earns to her boyfriend, who is actually married. One day, the oldest sister Hoshimi, who is a painter, returns home. Hoshimi brings different men to the house, and has sex with them. The two younger sisters are thrown off by her behavior, until they find the reason for Hoshimi's frustration.

The film tells the story of Aiko, a 35-year-old mute woman who works in a bowling alley, and her brief romance with Yoshioka, a younger man who works as a postal carrier. The two meet when Aiko accidentally knocks Yoshioka off his bicycle, and they have a sexual encounter soon after. Aiko begins preparing lunchboxes and giving them to Yoshioka at his workplace as a way of expressing affection, which she cannot do verbally.

Though Kazu is somewhat of a freeloader, she enjoys living with him but things take an unexpected turn when one of her regular clients suddenly proposes to her. Marie confides in Kazu by telling him what happened. After she wakes up next day, she discovers that he has disappeared. Several days later, she finds Kazu and accompanies him to his house. Waiting for them is Kazu's wife, Mitsuko, a beautifully slim lady and the mirror opposite of Marie.

From that day on he often follows Wataru, pretending it is a coincidence and participating in Wataru's favorite activity of basketball with him. However, there is another person who has an interest for Wataru. It's Shiomi, a secretary-general. Both Wataru and Shiomi confess to Wataru but Wataru sleeps with Chihiro. Shiomi makes plans to tear Chihiro and Wataru apart.

Kato is a small time TV producer. He has a wife Masako, and a young son Taro. Kato also has a friend Yamazaki who he knew since college. Yamazaki has a girl friend Riko who lives with her younger sister Yuko who's an actress. Yamazaki is a lyric writer/womanizer and he starts to have an affair with Masako, but he's still going out with Riko.

A gay couple is on good terms with each other. They run a shot bar together and are enjoying their love. Their father was also once a lover, and they vowed to be together in the future, but they split up due to the barriers of the world. They are determined not to follow in the footsteps of their father. One day, at their restaurant, the two fathers meet again for the first time in decades. At first they are at odds with each other, but then the love they once had for each other comes back to life...
