More than two decades after reshaping electronic music as one-half of The Knife, Swedish avant-pop artist Fever Ray brought their radical sonic vision to Sydney Opera House at Vivid LIVE 2024 for their highly anticipated Australian debut. From the spectral synth beats of The Knife to the shapeshifting pop soundscapes of their solo work, Swedish avant-garde alchemist Karin Dreijer – aka Fever Ray – carved a singular, uncompromising path through 21st-century electronic music. Following The Knife’s wildly successful third album, Silent Shout – named by Pitchfork as the best album of 2006 – Fever Ray released their 2009 self-titled debut, a modern masterpiece of haunting, left-field electro-pop. It was followed by 2017’s Plunge, which found Dreijer embracing their newfound queer identity through a set of irresistibly sensual, alien pop songs.

Steven Okazaki presents a deeply moving look at the painful legacy of the first -- and hopefully last -- uses of nuclear weapons in war. Featuring interviews with fourteen atomic bomb survivors - many who have never spoken publicly before - and four Americans intimately involved in the bombings, White Light/Black Rain provides a detailed exploration of the bombings and their aftermath.

Formed in 2005 in Kobe, Japan, Otoasobi Project has some 50 members, including people with intellectual disabilities, musicians, and music therapists, who pursue music and well-being through improvised performances. After many years of numerous workshops, concerts, and other activities, they even held their first tour in the UK in September 2013. The movie “Whereabouts of Sound” depicts the appeal of the improvised music Otoasobi creates, and the beauty of its natural, honest expression.

Downtown, next to the demolished premises of this radio, where “Electrifying Mojo” was on air with his program “The Midnight Funk Association”. His voice is recalling us the art of this mysterious character, of whom there is only one photograph, showing his face hidden by a shadow!

‘Blue Potential’ is a CD and DVD package that documents Mills’ live collaboration with the Montpellier Philharmonic Orchestra in a free concert performed in July of 2005 under the magnificent Pont Du Gard just outside of Avignon, France. The concert consists of fifteen orchestral reworkings of Mills’ tracks ranging from classics such as ‘Amazon’ and ‘Sonic Destroyer’ to more recent material from his soundtracks to ‘Metropolis’ and ‘Three Ages’. The arrangement is simple: Mills provides the rhythmic backbone with his trademark 909 percussive hiss and snare while the orchestra provides the melodic and harmonic elements.

A visual documentary of Einstürzende Neubauten, the German underground band, by Japanese cult director Sogo Ishii, made during their 1985 tour of Japan. The band makes an elaborate and remarkably choreographed appearance in the ruins of an old ironworks which was scheduled for demolition; footage of same was incorporated into the movie and a brief appearance on stage.
