Marisa Emma Smith

Biography

As an actor, director and producer, Marisa has worked extensively in the professional theatre scene in Vancouver, most recently performing in the Critic's Choice-nominated Little One and Jordan Hall's Kayak. She is currently (2015) Artistic Producer of Alley Theatre. On screen, she has appeared in Stargate Universe and the recent Canadian feature Lawrence & Holloman. Marisa was nominated for a "Critics Choice Innovation Award" for her production of Mrs. Warren's Profession, and in addition to that site-specific live performance, Marisa co-executive produced the convergent interactive website and documentaries for mrswarrens.ca. Marisa is a BFA graduate of the University of Victoria and is a winner of the Joanna Marrata Award and the Cultchivating the Fringe Award.

Irfan Mensur

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Irfan Mensur (born: Irfan Kurić), (Born 19 January 1952) is a Serbian theatre, television and film actor. He is living and playing roles in Serbia for 30 years. He is married for the 2nd time to Serbian actress Srna Lango. The couple live in Belgrade and have two sons. During 2000s (decade) couple took one of the main roles in Serbian TV serial Jelena filmed in the production of Serbian RTV BK Telecom. In December 2010 Irfan and Srna enrolled into popular reality show Parovi on the Serbian TV station Happy TV. Scott McCloud

Biography

Scott McCloud (born Scott McLeod) is an American cartoonist and comics theorist. He is best known for his non-fiction books about comics: Understanding Comics (1993), Reinventing Comics (2000), and Making Comics (2006), all of which also use the medium of comics. He established himself as a comics creator in the 1980s as an independent superhero cartoonist and advocate for creator's rights. He rose to prominence in the industry beginning in the 1990s for his non-fiction works about the medium, and has advocated the use of new technology in the creation and distribution of comics. Sean Connery

Sir Thomas Sean Connery (August 25, 1930 – October 31, 2020) was a Scottish actor and producer who won an Academy Award, two BAFTA Awards (one being a BAFTA Academy Fellowship Award), and three Golden Globes, including the Cecil B. DeMille Award and a Henrietta Award. Connery was the first actor to portray the character James Bond in film, starring in seven Bond films (every film from Dr. No to You Only Live Twice, plus Diamonds Are Forever and Never Say Never Again), between 1962 and 1983. In 1988, Connery won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Untouchables. His films also include Marnie (1964), Murder on the Orient Express (1974), The Man Who Would Be King (1975), A Bridge Too Far (1977), Highlander (1986), Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989), The Hunt for Red October (1990), Dragonheart (1996), The Rock (1996), and Finding Forrester (2000). Connery was polled in a 2004 The Sunday Herald as "The Greatest Living Scot" and in a 2011 EuroMillions survey as "Scotland's Greatest Living National Treasure". He was voted by People magazine as both the “Sexiest Man Alive" in 1989 and the "Sexiest Man of the Century” in 1999. He received a lifetime achievement award in the United States with a Kennedy Center Honor in 1999. Connery was knighted in the 2000 New Year Honours for services to film drama. Rettig is best remembered for portraying the character "Jeff Miller" in the first three seasons of CBS's Lassie television series, from 1954–1957, later seen in syndicated re-runs as Jeff's Collie. He also co-starred with another former child actor, Tony Dow, in the mid-1960s television teen soap opera Never Too Young and recorded the song by that title with the group The TR-4. Farida Jalal

Biography

Farida Jalal (born 14 March 1949) is an Indian actress. In a film career spanning almost fifty years, Jalal acted in over 200 films in the Hindi, the Telugu, and the Tamil film industries. Best known for her character driven roles in independent cinema and supporting work in mainstream Bollywood productions, Jalal has received such accolades as four Filmfare Awards and two Bengal Film Journalists Association Awards. Jalal started her career with Taqdeer (1967). She went on to play leading and supporting roles in numerous motion pictures through the 1970s and early 80s. She is widely remembered for her roles in Paras (1971), Henna (1991) and Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), all of which garnered the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress. She became a household name after portraying motherly roles and strong female characters in the 1990s and the early 2000s. She has also won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance for her role in Mammo (1994). She won the Best Actress Award at the 2012 Harlem International Film Festival for her role in A Gran Plan (2012). She has successfully transitioned to numerous shows on Indian television alongside her work in films. Some of her notable works are the sitcom Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi, Dekh Bhai Dekh, Shararat and Ammaji Ki Galli. She was seen in the soap opera Satrangi Sasural on channel Zee TV portraying the role of Gomti Vatsal a.k.a. Dadi Maa.

Johnny Mathis is an American singer of popular music, with several dozen of his albums achieving gold or platinum status and 73 making the Billboard charts. Guinness world records and music charts historian Paul Gambaccini confirms Mathis record sales have surpassed well over 360 million worldwide. This makes Johnny Mathis the 3rd biggest selling artist of the 20th century after Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra (as for 2018). Although he is frequently described as a romantic singer, his discography includes traditional pop, Brazilian, Spanish, soul, rhythm and blues, soft rock, show tunes, blues, country, and even a few disco songs for his album Mathis Magic in 1979. Mathis has also recorded six albums of Christmas music. In 2014, Mathis was inducted into the Great American Songbook Hall Of Fame. In 2017, Mathis' alma mater San Francisco State University awarded him an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree. Mathis attended San Francisco State for three semesters before withdrawing in 1956 to pursue his music career.

Matthew Kowalchuk

Biography

Matthew has been recognized as one of Canada's emerging comedy filmmakers, with a body of work that has been seen around the globe, including his multi-award winning debut feature, Lawrence & Holloman (2013), and the acclaimed Bedbugs: A Musical Love Story (2014). He is a recipient of the Canadian Comedy Award for Best Feature Film (Lawrence & Holloman), and was also nominated as Director and co-Screenwriter. Other award honours include: BC Emerging Director (VIFF), Rising Star Director (EIFF), Best Director of a Comedy (VTXIFF), and several 'Best of Fest' awards. In addition to screening all over North America, he is honoured as well to have seen his films play to audience in such diverse cities as Shanghai, Perth, St. Petersburg, London, Berlin, and Cannes. Matthew has long been a student of comedy, having first trained as an improvisor with Edmonton's storied Rapid Fire Theatre, which counts among it's distinguished alumni, Nathan Fillion, Mark Meer, and Ron Pederson.
