After being kidnapped and escaping, young drummer boy Aaron searches for his camel and finds him in the Nativity of the Baby Jesus. Aaron gives Baby Jesus the only gift he has, a song on his drum.

A free adaptation of Jesus Christ Superstar. The musical, shot in the Atacama Desert, transfers the action to the context of the indigenous peoples of the Andes and uses arrangements made with musical instruments typical of the region.

Jesus, a humble Judean carpenter beginning to see that he is the son of God, is drawn into revolutionary action against the Roman occupiers by Judas -- despite his protestations that love, not violence, is the path to salvation.
