"Niña Linda" follows the story of a young Dominican-American college student, Carolina (played by Aileen Pujols), who begins to find a new sense of self through her relationship with Carter (played by Brock Warren), and navigates her complicated relationships with Mami (played by Yanelba Ferreira), Tia (played by Genesis Diaz), and God.

Four families recount how they met and formed their families at a time when marriage and civil unions were denied to LGBT+ people. The film demonstrates what homophobia seeks to attack: love and family.

In Róbert Alföldi's film, children and adults play each other. The child in the adult role is very comic, and the adult relegated to the role of child is very awkward.
