Mount Lu or Lushan, also known as Kuanglu (匡庐) in ancient times, is situated in the northern part of Jiangxi province in southeastern China, and is one of the most renowned mountains in the country. The oval-shaped mountains are about 25 km long and 10 km wide, and neighbors Jiujiang city and the Yangtze River to the north, Nanchang city to the south, and Poyang Lake to the east. Its highest point is Dahanyang Peak (大汉阳峰), reaching 1,474 m above sea level, and is one of the hundreds of steep peaks that towers above a sea of clouds that encompass the mountains for almost 200 days out of the year. Mount Lu is known for its grandeur, steepness, and beauty, and is part of Lushan National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996, and a prominent tourist attraction, especially during the summer months when the weather is cooler.

This short celebrates the 20th anniversary of MGM. Segments are shown from several early hits, then from a number of 1944 releases.

Eva Ebner is a Berliner who gives the appearance of being rather eccentric. She knows the film business inside out – regardless of whether she’s work- ing behind the camera as an assistant director or in front of it as an actor. Her name is closely associated with a series of now-legendary adaptations of Edgar Wallace’s crime novels which were made in Germany during the 1960s. Upcoming young directors from local film schools have also profited from Ms. Ebner’s unbroken enthusiasm and passion for film. However, this eighty-year-old has a more than broken relationship to the events of her childhood and youth in Gdansk – a time when her life was characterised by an anti-Semitic step-mother and the dangers posed by the Nazi regime. This film portrait does not eschew any of the long dark shadows of that era, nor does it sidestep any friction between portrayer and his subject. (Lothar Lambert)

A Very Long Engagement: On the Set of a Romantic Epic

Public light rips through the night of a modern city. Sleeplessness is lit up by a computer monitor in an urban space, where day and night are no longer distinguished. Starting from videos of thermal cameras found online, a reflection goes through the changes in the contemporary city, the extension of social control mechanisms and the evolution of digital technologies to face the frontiers of a progressive expansion of the field of visible - and controllable - in the surveillance society.

A modest and loving portrait of a small enclave of old-fashioned beach huts by the North Sea. The sound track is fragments of conversations with the inhabitants, who themselves are not seen on screen; the protagonists on screen are the huts, the beach and the sea. And, only a stone’s throw away, the heavy industry of the Hoogovens furnaces.

The film is about Alexey Popogrebsky's film "How I spent this summer". In the film, there are no tedious reflections of the actors and the director about their film against the background of posters of the same film. But there is life itself, real, unmasked, and, despite the sea of comicality, it makes you horrified at how the Russian film process can take place…

The film, based on Robert Schumann's Pictures from the East, shows in an unusual perspective the work of Nizar Ali Badr, a Syrian sculptor whose unique language of stone sculptures radiates happiness and love in the face of war, destruction, migration, poverty and injustice. The animated sculptures made of pebbles present us with short stories. The soundtrack of the animation - original arrangements of melodies from Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Music Boxes" - is performed by Gidon Kremer and the musicians of his orchestra Kremerata Baltika.
