Dos Islas is a poetic story about old age, family and the bond between a granddaughter and a grandmother. The woman, who just turned 102, tells stories about her past and childhood. In a literary and visual way she describes the most minute details. The film dazzles the viewer with love and optimism, the time passes slowly between the two islands, which might be real people, real places or the products of the main character’s imagination.

Through these three main subjects of observation, and many other images collected through a process that took over ten years, photographer Aleix Plademunt and filmmaker Carlos Marques-Marcet set up a meditation on how we construct our world through looking and the complex relationship between images and the spoken language.

In a new documentary, The Kyiv Independent’s War Crimes Investigations Unit uncovers the torture of Ukrainian civilians held by Russian forces and traces the roots of these practices through Russian history. “Gaudí, l’arquitecte de Déu” is a story of faith, of overcoming, about five lay that decided to create an assossiation to demonstrate that Gaudí deserves one of most valuable titles of the Church: beatification. The Pro-Beatification Association of Antoni Gaudí has been working more than 25 years to manage to beatify the architect of Reus, picking up all witnesses and proofs that demonstrate that Gaudi lived like a beatus and, the most difficult part, wiaiting for a miracle to happen attributed do Gaudí himself, an essential condition for his beatification. The documentary will follow this case, showing Gaudi’s life and work from a new outlook, more intimate and linked to spirituality and beliefs of the architect.

"Free Spaces" sketches a new and transformative image of four major cities in Eastern Europe. In te post-communist urban settings of Tbilisi (Georgia), Yerevan (Armenia), Chișinău (Moldova) and Kiev (Ukraine), Ina Ivanceanu follows artists and activists as they reclaim public spaces and assert their freedom of expression. Occupying a cinema, reviving an old Soviet circus, converting a grim metro passage into a glamorous arena, and repurposing a defunct factory building into a cultural agora. By seizing and creatively transforming public spaces characterized by an abondoned past, today's new generation explores democratic means and freedom while also confronting pervasive neoliberal structures in their respective societies.
