Romance of a Tear

Oton, a young boy, is growing up while his hometown Ljubljana changes, from 1934, when King Alexander of Yugoslavia is killed in France, through first the Italian and then the German occupations of the city, until the arrival of Communism.

A meeting and a walk of two young people in Ljubljana's parks, Tivoli and Rožnik. In the inner dialogue of the young man, Ljubljana and his beloved face each other.

Špela graduated in Art History and has never had a steady job. Unlike her two best friends, who have moved out of Slovenia years ago with no plans to return, she is determined to stay in Ljubljana. When even her longtime boyfriend gets a job abroad she moves back in with her parents and her grandma. But Špela wants to grow up and cut the cord instead of delaying her already well overdue adulthood any longer.

The son of a veteran named Agus was faced with the shadow of his father's absence, so he grew up to be an undisciplined child. Until the veteran died and made his son follow in his father's footsteps to enter the military world.

The plot of the film is based on the biographical facts of Duru Khurtsilava, a famous criminal of the 60s of the 20th century, with amazing physical strength.

The film depicts episodes from Galaktion Tabidze's dramatic, contradictory life.
