A few moments in the lives of two angle-poise lamps. The bigger one is playing with a small ball when it's child joins the game. The smaller one is a bit too exuberant and squashes the ball flat. Aww, it's upset. Wait! There's another ball over there - and it's huge. There's a lovely shot at the end where "mummy" lamp just looks at the camera and shakes it's bulb with a sort of knowing parental despair that rather sums up this entertaining critique on one tiny aspect of parenthood for an adult being one of Earth-shattering importance for a child. Until, that is, the next distraction comes along. The choice of the lamps to tell the story works well and the cleverly crafted stop-motion style of the animation almost gives them an human quality.
