Trapped

At the height of the global lockdown, two journalists unravel the web of shady deals and frightening incompetence behind their government's response to the pandemic.

The young Iranian woman had not been expecting this kind of examination. She only wanted to renew her driver’s license, but when the officials noticed a scar on her wrist and her tattoo, they began looking at her with suspicion. Suddenly she is trapped, forced to answer personal questions and exposed to insinuations. The camera captures the growing uneasiness with clinical precision.

In this short film, I explain that the search for identity occurs when one goes out of societal restrictions, both internally and externally.

One foot in the grave, they are involuntarily bound together by common destiny - the death of one means the death of the other. But not just their apparent differences make it difficult for them to overcome their dilemma. Nature, too, offers some challenges to test the soldiers' solidarity and survival skills.
