In the infancy of the 1960s, a Presidential blunder radically changes the course of the Space Race.

The major force in this story is the children - the group of mischievous girls and boys who can play all the time. They find an antique amphora at the bottom of the sea. Since there is an amphora, there must be a frigate. There is a mystery cave in which the captain goes empty handed and comes out with full packs. That is how the search begins. The children and the adults are passionate about it. Instead of a frigate, they find a truth: "We do not need much to have fun."

The plot follows an honest police officer who is sent to a lawless town and must work to restore order while dealing with corruption and a woman searching for buried treasure.

In Ceylon, American Babs Lincoln, daughter of US Ambassador Jefferson Lincoln, is kidnapped. At the same time, an employee of the US Embassy in Colombo is murdered. The crimes bring Joe Louis Walker, alias Inspector X, and Tom Rowland onto the scene, who quickly realize that the cases are connected.

Three American brothers who have not spoken to each other in a year set off on a train voyage across India with a plan to find themselves and bond with each other -- to become brothers again like they used to be. Their "spiritual quest", however, veers rapidly off-course (due to events involving over-the-counter pain killers, Indian cough syrup, and pepper spray).

When Emil travels by bus to Berlin to visit his family, his money is stolen by a crook who specializes in digging tunnels. While following the thief, Emil runs into Gustav, a young boy who gathers up all his friends to help Emil find the money. However, they get into more trouble than they bargained for when Emil's pickpocket turns out to be mixed up with a couple of notorious bank robbers.

Emil goes to Berlin to see his grandmother with a large amount of money and is offered sweets by a strange man that make him sleep. He wakes up at his stop with no money. It is up to him and a group of children to save the day.

The two of them drink to see who can drink better, but both of them are drunk. When they wake up, they wake up as three men in a military unit. They don't know why they came here, how they got there yesterday, or what they did there. Only a third guy tells them what happened to them, and when they get drunk again, the story continues to get more complicated. The story continues full of events such as how the two of them left and became three men, what the three of them did together, and so on.
