Merlin against Santa Claus

After a robbery goes wrong, Frank and Vince break into a home when two kids mistake them for their babysitters. Hoping to make them fall asleep so they can make their getaway, Frank reads stories from a magic book that he stole during the robbery, taking them to the enchanted world of Arctic Friends. The two thieves have to endure the kid’s hijinks as they make various absurd attempts to escape.

In 1970s Iran, Marjane 'Marji' Satrapi watches events through her young eyes and her idealistic family of a long dream being fulfilled of the hated Shah's defeat in the Iranian Revolution of 1979. Badluck is a man with the head of a fish (this is a play on words in French between « poisse » – bad luck and « poisson » – fish). Bubbles of bad luck come out of his mouth. When one of the bubbles follows somebody, it throws a spell on that person. And the victim is sent into a tailspin of misery and bad luck where the worst that can possibly happen always does, right up until death, in the most incredible circumstances (but meaningless for the other protagonists) ends his or her cycle of bad luck. On a farm in 1933, a piglet is sold to a family in Copenhagen. Piggy is a pig with greater appetite than brain and does not know that the good food he gets will turn him to the main dish of Christmas Eve. When the freedom fighter Monty appears, he explains it to Piggy. Together they plan their great escape.

Fracture (1977) is a short animated film from France by the Brizzi Brothers (Paul and Gaëtan), a duo better known for their work on feature-length animated films such as Asterix versus Caesar (1985), and a number of films for Disney. Fracture is their earliest work, and isn’t remotely Disney-like, delivering an SF / fantasy scenario of alien inexplicabilities that makes it an animated counterpart of the comic strips that were running in Métal Hurlant (and its US counterpart, Heavy Metal) in the late 1970s.

One little ancient British village still holds out against the Roman invaders. Asterix and Obelix are invited to help. They must face fog, rain, warm beer and boiled boar with mint sauce, but they soon have Governor Encyclopaedius Britannicus's Romans declining and falling. Until a wild race for a barrel of magic potion lands them in the drink.

Now deprived of the wisdom of their beloved druid and the protection provided by his magic potion, the Armorican village falls prey to a proclaimed soothsayer who comes with ominous predictions and overweening ambitions. It's up to Asterix to keep his villager friends within reason and hopefully get Getafix to remember the magic potion's recipe before the impending Roman attack.

Appearing in his own TV commercials, unscrupulous toy maker, Wally P. Nezzer has convinced all of Dinkletown that "Christmas is when you get stuff!" With the town's children begging for more toys, it's sure to be the worst Christmas ever -- until one brave little Buzz-Saw Louie doll decides to take matters into his own hands! The Toy That Saved Christmas reminds children of all ages that "Christmas isn't about getting; it's about giving.
