County Durham, England, 1984. The miners' strike has started and the police have started coming up from Bethnal Green, starting a class war with the lower classes suffering. Famed Bolshoi duo Yekaterina Maximova and Vladimir Vasiliev star in this production of Tchaikovsky's beloved ballet, The Nutcracker. Maximova dances the role of Maria, the young girl whose mysterious uncle Drosselmeyer gives her a wooden nutcracker (Vasiliev) for Christmas. When he comes to life, she rescues him from marauding mice and is taken to the Kingdom of Sweets.

At just 24 years old, Imen ES, originally from Sevran, a city often seen as the archetype of a rough suburb and the birthplace of a raw hip-hop scene, has made her mark. Today, nothing can stop her. Starting out with the image of a "little sister," she has now transformed into a "queen," collaborating with renowned artists in France.

With the explosion of Hip Hop and Rap, three young black musicians battle for space. They cross paths with the São Bento gang, a singing and dancing group led by Thayde and DJ Hum. And also with musicians like Luni, Marisa Orth, Nazi, Fábrica Fagus and many people who play shows at the Mambembe theater.
