A chronicle of three generations of Italian-American women struggling to get by in post-World War II New York’s Little Italy.

'The Girl from Nagasaki' is a 3D feature film production of the classic Puccini Opera 'Madam Butterfly,' directed by world renown photographer Michel Comte. It's a modern day tale that starts with the young Madame Butterfly emerging from the ashes of the atomic bomb in Nagasaki. By a subtle meshing of reality and fantasy, Michel Comte and his team bring to the screen a visual orgy of modern ballet, opera and narrative filmmaking.

Byzantium, 6th century AD, and Emperor Michael II convenes a meeting to elect a wife for his regent, Theophilus, who, although charmed by the nineteen-year-old princess Cassiane, ultimately chooses Theodora. His general, Acillas, who is in love with Cassiane, is appointed commander of the forces in Sicily and, before leaving, obtains Cassiane's promise that she will marry him, even though she does not love him. In Sicily, the noblewoman Irene falls in love with him, but he cannot forget Cassiane. Theophilus secretly meets Cassiane, who has begun to write religious hymns. Rumors that Cassiane is the regent's mistress reach the ears of Aquila, who rushes to Constantinople with the intention of killing Theophilus, but is himself killed by the palace guards. After this, Cassiane locks herself away in a monastery and devotes herself to hymnography.

Loui is unable to father a child and his wife Sascha has been inseminated artificially. As she gives birth to Daniel, Loui is hit with an unbearable sadness and detachment that only grows bigger as Daniel grows up and the rift between husband and wife grows bigger.

A Girl from Chandigarh comes to Amritsar with the intention of rejecting a prospective groom and ends up spending the day with a Boy from Amritsar. His constant chatter exasperates her, but they share a curious chemistry nevertheless. They clash over their cities, their beliefs and ideologies and almost every thing they talk about. Between bouts of culture bashing and despite many scenarios where both could have gone their separate ways, they end-up spending the day together. She finally decides to return without meeting the prospective groom and leaves a note for him with the Boy. Will the Boy and Girl part ways with just the memories of this day or will they meet again?
