A wealthy man with a circle of friends falls seriously ill. The son quickly arrives with his fiancée, who discovers that he left her in a hotel and went to see his father alone. His father scolds him when he learns that he completed his engagement without seeing his fiancée and insists on seeing her. The son returns to the hotel and does not find his fiancée, so he agrees with a girl to play the role of his fiancée.

Here's a strange one. First, a song on a blackboard: a Polish translation of “I love my little rooster” by American folk writer Almeda Riddle. Then, two men roll around trash bins and lift them to the garbage truck. They do it several times. A woman shouts in the distance. At the end, the picture stops, and the woman sings the song. The story of the Talking Light piece is basically that of an older man who questions, not only decisions he made as a teenager, but also if the events he remembers from that time happened at all. "A dead infant clutching a ring with an inscription the teenager cannot read" is the stuff of dreams. The following stories in the show may or may not shed light on the inscription. Questions remain unanswered. The Residents study death, not as a horrific end, but as the ultimate question that we all ask while wondering if any of it is even real.
