Released in 2001, the selected shorts span original creation dates of 1997 to 2001; most of the featured filmmakers also appear as themselves in short video interviews to talk about their inspirations, creative process and motivations while working on their individual shorts.

The film features a story generated with the assistance of early AI technology, along with AI-assisted colorization, voice cloning, and lip synchronization. The movie was constructed from royalty-free and public domain source material, transformed into a new narrative through editing, additional graphics, music, and creative direction. With additional music and visual work by MiRRoRMaN, *The Result* explores the possibilities and limitations of AI-assisted filmmaking during the early years of accessible creative AI tools.
