The Porter's Horrible End

A woman attorney is seen in her apartment with her poor henpecked husband, who is more like her man servant than her better half. She is so taken up with her studies in law that she finds no time to bother with household duties, thus putting the burden on her husband who is compelled to take care of the baby, clean the house, do the cooking and be on hand, ready to answer whenever the wife calls on him to attend to her wants. Things do not run very smoothly, however, which is not at all surprising, so she finally decides to take a hand in the domestic affairs herself. (Moving Picture World)

A young woman sitting on a bench in the public park is annoyed by an old man sitting next to her and paying her persistent attention. Resenting this ridiculous flirtation, the young lady rises to leave, but the old man tries to stop her, so she pushes him down and is soon seen seeking more peaceful quarters. Amalia is a 1914 Argentine silent film directed by Enrique García Velloso and written by Eugenio Py. It was based on the novel by José Mármol. The film starred Dora Huergo and Lola Marcó del Pont. It is the first full length film ever produced in Argentine cinema history.

More than a dozen shots, some less than a second, of people wearing roller skates in various settings: a young man in skates sits on a low guardrail next to a city sidewalk reading, a woman with a child shoots by, a constable skates gingerly, a man skates by in suit and vest, another cleans front steps, children skate into a room where papa and siblings sit, someone slips at the base of stairs, a man in a cowboy hat moves fast, two jovial chubby women shake hands, our man in the hat trips over a wheelbarrow, then falls again as he rounds a corner, then down goes the constable. It's a crazy day on the city sidewalks.

Max is a stage struck youth, and because of a deep-seated desire to go on the stage, refuses to consent to a marriage his father has planned for him. The girl, whom Max has never met, is also stage struck, and entertains no wish of marrying him, though her mother is anxious to see her make the alliance. The parents finally manage to bring the young people together, and they, in turn, exert all their skill in an attempt to disgust each other. An accidental meeting between the two when they are off guard causes them to change their minds.

African animals, including a lookout monkey, await with trepidation the arrival of big-game hunter Theodore Roosevelt.

A gentleman is here shown partaking of a little lunch of bread and cheese, and occasionally is seen to glance at his morning paper through a reading glass. He suddenly notices that the cheese is a little out of the ordinary, and examines it with his glass. To his horror, he finds it to be alive with mites, and, in disgust, leaves the table. Hundreds of mites resembling crabs are seen scurrying in all directions. A wonderful picture and a subject hitherto unthought of in animated photography.
