A young rising boxer is torn between choosing two women to be with in his life, a hooker and a TV star, both of whom join forces to make him be dependent on one forever.

The night in a big city. A young woman walks alone on a bridge, her gaze unfathomable. She stops, hesitates briefly, then jumps to her death. Under mysterious circumstances, Mara survives the jump and wakes up dazed in hospital. The doctors are strangely reserved when she calls her boyfriend Janis. Mara flees home from the hospital, but finds a completely changed apartment where another woman has taken her place and throws Mara out of the apartment. It slowly becomes clear that no one recognizes Mara, she seems to have completely "fallen out of the world".

The killer escapes before Annunziata is able to see who it was. Following this murder are several others, and always with the same “signature” — a syringe in one of the testicles of the victims. As the gangsters continue to be killed off, the identity of the killer – or killers – slowly becomes obvious.

Set in New York City in the 1990s, community activists seek to rid their neighborhood of the anguish, brutality, and violence associated with local drug dealers.
