Fernando Lemos, a Portuguese surrealist artist, fled from dictatorship to Brazil in 1952 searching for something better. The movie follows the last moments of his journey and the struggle for the preservation of his legacy, trying to fulfill his last great desire: to be a good dead man.

Poet, agricultural engineer and revolutionary Amílcar Cabral was born in Guinea-Bissau to Cape Verdean parents. After studying in Portugal, he emerged as the charismatic leader of the anti-colonial struggle against Portuguese rule. With his utopian ideas, he sparked a cultural and an armed uprising that went on to inspire other African liberation movements.

But the dream that brought him will remain forever in the city that never sleeps, awaiting his return.

Filmed during lockdown 2020, ‘de Luz/Of Light’ explores fleeting perceptions and cyclic rituals of Portuguese coastal landscapes, specifically surrounding the Cabo Sardão Lighthouse in Beja, and constructs a complex audio-visual narrative through collaging together various natural rhythms (such as the sun and motion of the sea). This film is intended for screening with a 16:27 aspect ratio. The soundtrack was composed by sound artist Michelle Lewis-King.

The children that remember when the water was clean, now grandparents, share their story of resistance and fight against pollution.

A true artist of classic longboarding, Laure Mayer has found her rhythm and her lifestyle in Byron Bay, Australia. A life of surfing, travelling and encounters that has allowed this entrepreneur to build friendships all over the world. Back in Europe, she decided to go on a road trip along France, Spain and Portugal, in which Laure met Estelle, Paula, Andrea, Inés and Ria. Just like Laure, these surfers have chosen a lifestyle that allows them to enjoy the priceless freedom of surfing as often as possible.

An old hostel, located in the center of Porto, served for many years as a hostel for people with few possessions, prostitutes and people passing through who made that place a more or less prolonged residence.
