The Legend of the Swordsman

At the end of the Yin Shang Dynasty, King Zhou was tyrannical and the people were in desperate straits. The God of Heaven and Shen Gong Bao wanted to take advantage of the chaos to destroy the mortal world by using the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation. In order to fight against the evil forces, Jiang Ziya gathers Yang Jian, Nezha and other immortals to join forces to save the mortal world.

Painted Skin is based on one of Pu Songling's classic short stories in Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio. Zhou Xun stars as Xiao Wei, a fox spirit that feasts on human hearts in order to maintain her lovely, youthful appearance. When General Wang Sheng (Chen Kun) 'rescues' her from a band of bandits and brings her home, trouble brews as the demon falls in love with the general.

Chia Ling aka Judy Lee (SHAOLIN INVINCIBLES, QUEEN BOXER) stars as a woman summoned by a retired general to sing and play the lute for him, but as she performs, he attempts to assault her and in the process murders her. The general and his assistant throw her body and lute into a fire, but Master Ku, a scholar who was watching her father, finds the burnt shell of the lute which now contains her ghost. Together they will now try and bring the general and his henchmen to justice.

A kung-fu manual known as the Sacred Scroll is stolen from the Emperor's library. An army detachment is sent to recover it. Meanwhile, a young swordsman and his fellow disciple are accidentally drawn into the chaos.

The sensitive swordsman Cho Yi-Hang is tired of his life.
