A bored trio of high school delinquents start a rock 'n' roll band together. They have no skill, money, or even a full set of drums, but are determined to jam out and impress their only friend.

After Rona cut contact with her family in Israel and moved to Japan, a surprising phone call from her father, informing her that her sister had been killed in an accident, changes her world. The film follows the most difficult 24 hours of her life, during which she tries to continue her daily routine as a member of a family for rent. As she denies her sister's death she begins to be a stranger that is trapped in her previous world.

When a machine that allows therapists to enter their patient's dreams is stolen, all hell breaks loose. Only a young female therapist can stop it and recover it before damage is done: Paprika.

A daughter is constantly overshadowed by her famous father, but she is determined to make her own mark in the world.

The first theatrical release, titled Bonobono, opened in theaters on 1993-11-13. The film has since been broadcast on domestic television in Japan, including on broadcast satellite channels such as NHK BS-2. The film has been released on VHS and DVD in Japan, including in a "no cut" edition.
