On November 17, 2012, Oscar-winning French actress Marion Cotillard joined the Barcelona Symphony and Catalonia National Orchestra for a performance of Arthur Honegger’s oratorio Joan of Arc at the Stake (Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher) at the L'Auditori de Barcelona in Spain, broadcast live on Medici.tv. By Swiss composer Arthur Honegger, Jeanne d'Arc au Bûcher (1938) is an imposing oratorio. The libretto is a highly original creation by French poet and playwright Paul Claudel, who dramatises the last moments of the martyr's life. Originally written for actress Ida Rubinstein, the oratorio is written as a flashback in which Joan recalls her life, just before she dies. Honegger creates visually evocative ambiances and fills the orchestra with new sounds (saxophones, ondes Martenot). The initial prologue to the piece was added in 1944 as a symbol of the resistance during the Nazi occupation of France: again, Joan goes beyond her own story.

Joined by the likes of saxophonist Ben Webster and trumpeter Cootie Williams, jazz giant Duke Ellington demonstrates in this collection of performance clips (spanning the years 1929-43) precisely why he's one of the seminal figures in American music. Ellington's musical evolution can be seen in excerpts from feature-length and short films that include Black and Tan, Check and Double Check, Symphony in Black and The Hit Parade of 1937.

25th Anniversary of Love and Courage: Fire Emblem Festival was an orchestral concert which was part of Intelligent Systems' celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Fire Emblem series. The concert was performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in July 2015. Dragon Quest Fantasia Video is a direct-to-video live action production of the Dragon Quest series that was released by Enix in 1988. A silent reinterpretation of different elements of the Erdrick trilogy games set to various music from the games composed by Koichi Sugiyama and performed by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra. The video was planned and produced by Toshio Okada, who was then the head of anime studio Gainax, who worked on the movie's special effects, and Tohokushinsha Film.

Though something of an idol amongst his female audience he has a melancholic awareness of the slow disappearance of that audience and of his advancing years. He is completely knocked off balance when he meets strikingly attractive and much younger businesswoman Marion. She seems distant and apparently otherwise involved but soon shows quiet signs of reciprocating his interest.

Gauche is a diligent but mediocre cellist who plays for a small town orchestra and the local cinema in the early 20th century. He struggles during rehearsals and is often berated by his conductor during preparations for an upcoming performance of Beethoven's Sixth Symphony. Over the course of four nights, Gauche is visited at his mill house home by talking animals as he is practicing.

On Saturday 17th January 2009 at the world famous Abbey Road studios in London, Elbow performed the entirety of their Mercury Music Prize winning album The Seldom Seen Kid with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Chantage, the winners of Radio 3's Choir Of The Year competition. The band played new and exclusive versions of the songs from the album in order and were joined by Richard Hawley for The Fix. The Seldom Seen Kid is a welcome return from the band, driven by a thunderous riff that reminds listeners of Elbow's love of the heavy as well as the delicate. Produced by keyboard player, Craig Potter, the album is the follow up to 2005's universally acclaimed Leaders Of The Free World. The big themes of love and loss become the central focus of an album that sees Elbow, a band universally recognized for their musical ability and innovation, stretch their sonic template further than ever before.
