Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World

Soviet propaganda cartoon from WW2. Hitler, introduced by Charlie Chaplin, is ridiculed in three short skits.

A "Peeping Tom" likes to look through windows at women undressing. We see him as he sneaks a peek at two subjects. The first, a woman dressed in lingerie, is young, shapely and attractive. The second, to be charitable, isn't. That doesn't stop him, and the viewer, from getting an eyeful.

The comedy is about drunkard who wanted to go to the bath-house but instead of going there he boarded a plane going to Ganja city...

Short Subject [commonly known as Mickey Mouse in Vietnam] is a 16mm underground animated short film. Mickey Mouse enlists with the army and ships off to Vietnam.

In this romance, a middle-aged playboy finds himself running his father's fur business after his father's death. He continues to allow his papa's mistress to run the business. The playboy's fiancee gets pregnant and he refuses to marry her. She dumps him in favor of his best friend. Soon the selfish man finds himself deserted by all his friends. He winds up involved with his father's patiently waiting lover.

"...Or Die”, directed by Gregory Bonsignore and John Petaja, satirizes the obstacles today's South Asian Hollywood actors have to deal with.

An adaptation of Franz Kafka's classic story about Gregor Samsa, a man who awakes and sees himself suddenly turned into a repulsive insect.

This mocking criticism of public life and the media focuses on a TV series. The protagonist of the film, depicting the battles fought for Hungarian castles during the Ottoman occupation, is chosen to be the amateur Prohászka Feri, a worker in the beer-factory.

When the television ratings machines suddenly malfunction, public television suddenly, but mistakenly, soars to #1 in this humorous satire.

Since everyone lives under one roof, Wanda gets an intimate view of their family life. So intimate that Wanda unexpectedly becomes pregnant.

An ambitious and unscrupulous man becomes a major politician, but his illegitimate son is posted as an inspector in his constituency and vows to stop his brutal activities.
