You Talkin' To Me?

A rock band, on the brink of success, arrives at a movie studio to produce their first music video. Somebody doesn't have much respect for their talent, and starts bumping off members of the band, their groupie girlfriends, and the crew.

It's 1987, and best friends Romy and Michele, fresh out of high school, are desperate to get away from their square hometown of Tucson and take their rightful place amongst the beautiful, hip people of Hollywood.

"Blood Effects" a mockumentary by film maker Kris Black, is a cross between "Paranormal Activity" and Christopher Guest's "Best in Show". Presented as a "movie-within-a-movie", veteran Bruce Reisman produced Black's scathing satire of Hollywood horror movies, where reality ties itself up with fantasy, and the results are both humorous and horrifying.

Four stories intersect in this violent film parody. Exterminators dress as hit men and try to protect the wife of their boss, Montello. Meanwhile, the strippers at Montello's strip club, dressed as nuns, attempt to rob him. Tag-team wrestlers steal Montello's briefcase, thinking its contents are valuable. Finally, Bumpkin, running to deliver a script, loses a lot of the pages.
