During the Great Depression, Kennicke, a rancher in western South Dakota, hires on vagrant workers, only to murder them when it comes time to pay. When a new vagrant, The Stranger, arrives on the ranch and asks for work, Kennicke hires him on. Kennicke quickly realizes The Stranger is different from the other drifters who have met their fate on the ranch. He is smart and vital, and always seems to understand what Kennicke is thinking. It quickly becomes apparent that The Stranger might know more about Kennicke's murderous acts than seems possible. And soon, Kennicke realizes his own life might be in danger.

The plot of the film revolves around a love triangle among Milon, Bubly and Roshan. While Milon pursues Bubly in the movie, she loves Roshan, and the storyline will progress onwards with further cinematic climaxes and conflicts.

Eugen is released from prison at 28 years old, he has no one except his father Helmar who abandoned him when he was born, and friends Stina and Riko from the orphanage. Eugen attempts to begin a new life and contacts his father, but he finds himself returning to an endless cycle of violence.

Not only does the cool and undeterred Connie already know about the deaths, she claims she’s responsible for them. So begins the mystery, but also the relationship between confessor, whose tragic backstory we learn about in flashbacks, and her investigator, who has parental troubles of her own.

A mosaic film of three stories in three different Asian cities where the paths of the rich and poor cross one another in and around taxis. A closeted Beijing cab driver tries to seduce a rich passenger, a Hong Kong pregnant trophy wife starts to develop feelings for her new Indonesian maid and a Jakarta slum orphan becomes infatuated with a Western female backpacker. All three characters desperately want to connect on a basic human level but are their own worst obstacle.
