The scene is 4AM, November 19, 1915. Legendary labor songwriter, Joe Hill, is in his cell at the Utah State Prison, hours away from his execution for a trumped-up murder charge. A reporter has been sent from a local paper to record his last words. Maybe Hill will give them to him, maybe he won't. But first, the reporter will have to hear the story of Hill's life, the history and thinking behind his songs, the philosophy of the industrial Workers of the World for whom Hill writes, his thinking on life and labor, love and death, And he'll have to hear many songs.

Her difficult career beginning in her hometown, Porto Alegre, was not different from her friends' stories. Elis belonged to a group of people born to win. She had the talent, she knew her potential and she just needed to face the world with courage and determination. That is exactly what she did. The result is known by everybody and it is in this film, a unique register of memorable interpretations by Elis, including the song which Elis learned with Tom Jobim and entitles the film.

She mesmerised the crowd. The first sight would rapidly disappear and anyone who would get closer would also be surprised. It is not known if she did it for "beauty or precision", as Guimarães Rosa used to say. But the truth is that stereotypes would be destroyed as soon as she would fetch her followers. And revelations would unfold. Behind her suavely acute and toned voice, there was a deep tone that only few could reach. Behind her humble upbringing, there was an uncommon sensibility and intelligence. Her disguise was her irrepressible technique. Elis was pure emotion. And singing was not her final objective, she really wanted to make people happy. This film honours Elis and creates a singular portrait of Brazil's biggest star.

Live, the performance from November 2002 as part of the Beyond Nashville Festival. Works Orchestral Tour is live in Montreal on Aug. 26, 1977, where ELP became the first rock band to assemble and tour with a full 65 piece symphony orchestra before a sold-out audience of 70.000 enthusiastic fans. This is Emerson Lake And Palmer "Symphonic Live" recorded during the works tour on August 26th 1977 at the Montreal Olympic Stadium. The band was accompanied by the Royal Montreal Philharmonic 65 Piece Orchestra and a 12 person choir. This show, filmed before over 70,000 fans is considered to be Keith Emerson's Opus.

In this East German teen musical, a group of girls are planning to take their summer vacation together on the Baltic coast. When a loud and obnoxious group of boys intrudes on their holiday, the girls are horrified to learn that the boys have the same vacations plans as them. The two groups quarrel with each other and compete over a number of things, but gradually an attraction starts to form.

A young Jewish man is torn between tradition and individuality when his old-fashioned family objects to his career as a jazz singer. This is the first full length feature film to use synchronized sound, and is the original film musical.
