Glimpses of Chaucer penning his famous work are sprinkled through this re-enactment of several of his stories.

Architect Mark Wallace and his wife, Joanna, travel to France to meet with an affluent client. While there, they reflect on their first decade of marriage -- memories of when they first met, of courtship, and of road trips through the French countryside. As flirtation and playful quarreling turn to boredom with the banality of married life, the Wallaces struggle to rekindle their passion, while mutual infidelity threatens to tear them apart.

Comedy in five acts by Beaumarchais, filmed by Marcel Bluwal in studio and on location. The cast, in accordance with Marcel Bluwal's wishes, is in keeping with the age and character of the characters, to give it rhythm. At once "a comic baroque play, a bourgeois drama, a chansonnier's number, a social satire, a farce and a very pretty love story" according to Marcel Bluwal, it can also be summed up, according to Beaumarchais, as "the most bantering of intrigues".

A petty thief posing as an actor is brought to Los Angeles for an unlikely audition and finds himself in the middle of a murder investigation along with his high school dream girl and a detective who's been training him for his upcoming role...

But the other passengers also have their worries, and it is only when the situation in and around the train escalates that Sina and Carl come to their senses.

Jean Berlinger is a gentleman and master thief. With playful ease he breaks into well-secured museums and steals their most valuable exhibits. The police are always in the wrong. With the money he receives for the precious loot, he supports retirement homes and homeless shelters. In preparation for his next coup, Berlinger meets the beautiful educator Julia. She runs a kindergarten next to the Egyptian Museum, from which Berlinger wants to steal the world-famous Nefertiti.

The film consists of three independent parts: "Workmate", "Déjà vu" and "Operation Y". The plot follows the adventures of Shurik, the naive and nerdy Soviet student who often gets into ludicrous situations but always finds a way out very neatly.
