A music teacher in 1870s Boston works hard to succeed, while her wealthy distant relatives find their fortunes turning.

This darkly grotesque drama unfolds on multiple paths. The tangible one, now cruel, now crazy, along which the nomadic actor "Dad Mour", his wife "Mum" and two sons try to return home, but also the imaginary one, even more, tortuous and dusty, on which the often impressive mental youth (or immaturity, a scrooge might say) is welded with life circumstances forcing the protagonist to wise up. An anxious and exuberant cinematic faerie about love, the fear of loneliness and the gaze of sons fixed on their fathers.

Derelys is unable to go on stage, and Peggy takes her place, becoming the hit of the show. Peggy and David are later married and give up show business, finding contentment living on a farm.

Young advertising executive Vatanen suddenly quits his job and his whole life in Helsinki, and decides to spend a while in the Finnish wilderness. Joint montage of the first three silent films about Švejk: Good Soldier Švejk (1926, director: Karel Lamač), Švejk on the Front (1926, director Karel Lamač) and Švejk in Russian Captivity (1926, director: Svatopluk Innemann, model Karel Vaněk). The lead role was played by Karel Noll, who was very popular at the time. The last silent sequel Švejk v civilu (1927) exists independently, but the copy of the film is badly damaged.
