Overview
The mountaintop is usually the object and purpose of the trip. But for the small and serene Mr. Tao is a step on his continuing quest, that perhaps will never end.
Reviews
A nimble old gent is climbing a very steep hill, seemingly very jolly. He gets to the top then he eats some fruit, plays a quick tune on his harmonica then keeps on climbing. Upwards into the sky he traipses until he encounters God on a cloud. They enjoy a lively chat and then he keeps on going... Will he ever reach his destination? It's a very simple animation this one, and though it does pass three minutes amiably enough it didn't really capture my imagination. Perhaps it's suggesting that true happiness or fulfilment is impossible to find but the striving is worth it? Or perhaps it's suggesting that religion is no answer? It may be trying to be provocative, but who's to know?
