Rainer Werner Fassbinder's World on a Wire: Looking Ahead to Today

A documentary about Fassbinder and the early years of the legendary Antiteater, the group he was a member/leader of. You can here see and hear some of the actors he was going to use in his movies for the next years. The movie shows rehearsals for his play "The Coffeehouse," which also became a television movie, and you can watch unique footage from the 19th Film Festival in Berlin (1969) where "Love is Colder Than Death" was shown. As told in this documentary, his first feature movie was given a cold shoulder by many of the journalists and visitors at the festival. You can in "End of the Commune" watch Fassbinder and actor Ulli Lommel walk out on stage after the opening of "Love is Colder Than Death,” while a man in the audience is shouting "Out with the director!” In this documentary, Fassbinder also talks a lot about his father, who was a respectable doctor.

Raab, who had worked in both theatre and film, most notably with Fassbinder, was in the process of making a series of video sketches for a new production when he learned that he had AIDS. Despite his deteriorating health, and with the caring support of his friend Hans Hirshmuller, he carried on working. This tape is his last testimony. This episode perpetrated the great Spaghetti Harvest Hoax on April Fool's Day 1957. The filmed report appeared to show a Swiss family harvesting their annual crop of spaghetti which was growing on trees on their farm, talked about the efforts to eradicate the Spaghetti Weevil and discussed the selective breeding that had been required to produce spaghetti of a uniform length. Many viewers believed what they saw and contacted the BBC to enquire how to grow their own spaghetti tree: the advice that they were given was "place a sprig of spaghetti in a tin of tomato sauce and hope for the best".

Made by an Algerian-French woman director, the film begins by looking at the record of a more permissive history, and ends with the experiences of contemporary lovers from mixed backgrounds. It examines the personal issues raised by the desire for pleasure, amidst societal pressures for chastity and virginity. The film discusses pre-marital sex, courtship and marriage, familial pressures, private vs. public spaces, social taboos (and the desire to break them), and issues of language.

In January 2024, Number_i released their debut digital single GOAT. It was quickly followed by their mini album No.O -ring- in May, and their full album No.I in September of the same year. This special edition captures Number_i's live tour in Saitama Super Arena, which opened on Christmas Eve, 2024, and is the final show of their debut year.
