After causing his friend's death, an animal trainer marries the man's daughter to atone.

Two angels, Damiel and Cassiel, glide through the streets of Berlin, observing the bustling population, providing invisible rays of hope to the distressed but never interacting with them. In a richly decorated room, a scruffy troupe of a dozen acrobats and a little girl reawaken the old man's youthful nature and love.

A duo of acrobats go onstage one last time, united under the spotlights even as their harmony backstage is broken.
