Since all over the world the dead have risen, it seems like the end of the world. Billions of glassy gazing zombies roam about limply, decomposed as they are, and regain a little liveliness only to run after the last survivors who have the misfortune to come out of their lair. In Paris, three losers realize that ultimately all this does not change much in their lives. Deciding to take their destiny into their own hands, they open a pizza delivery and home video business. After a difficult start, their success grew as soon as they promoted themselves by stapling leaflets on the faces of the dead. But then one morning, they discover that it has just opened, right in front of their shop, a Captain Pizza HD franchise: the world's largest chain of delivery of pizzas and HD movies on USB key... Curse! Will our heroes triumph over this unfair competition?!

Short horror film.

Jerry is a strange and solitary boy who lives with his young neglectful mother in a run down apartment. He spends his weekends hidden away in his bedroom making model figurines and watching TV alone. While investigating a damp stain on his bedroom wall, Jerry peels off some wallpaper, revealing a seductive alien orifice growing behind the plaster. After spending an ever increasing amount of time in his bedroom exploring and inspecting the alien creature, Jerry embarks on his first sexual experience. After numerous encounters between Jerry and the creature, it becomes pregnant. Filled with panic and guilt, Jerry attempts to abort the alien creature, leading to a horrific outcome which neither himself nor his mother will ever forget.

Trapped in a post-apocalyptic world, ravaged by the Great Battle of the Sexes, Starlight (Erin Brown) is left to deal with the scrappy girl-gang that took her in, and the mystery that surrounds the loss of her beloved husband.

For this year's Movies Issue, The New York Times Magazine commissioned lines from an eclectic and talented group of screenwriters — writers responsible for some of the best scripts of 2013. We asked them each to write a single line for us — not a scene, a script or a scenario, but simply an intriguing, amusing or captivating line of dialogue. Then we gave these lines to one of the great movie artists of our time: the cinematographer Janusz Kaminski, a two-time Oscar winner. Kaminski used these lines as inspiration to create 11 original (very) short films. Each short evokes a style or genre of the cinematic past and stars an actor who gave an especially memorable performance in 2013.
