A stranger arrives in Sarajevo and barges into Damir's reclusive world. Little by little she takes over his life. She absorbs his dreams, until finally she threaten his very existence.

Niki is a child who chases butterflies through a chaotic landscape in a home-made samurai costume, and attempts to prepare for a catwalk. Niki is on a journey to find meaning, to understand a crazy world that does everything it can to get rid of anyone who doesn't fit in - an inner journey to become a human being.

"Frozen Jumper" begins in hit-and-run style with a pulsating textural noise. Flickering, nearly rectangular patterns join on the image plane, at first in black-and-white, bringing to mind the sprocket holes in celluloid film and, not least due to the lack of geometric precision, giving the impression of a pre-digital origin. As the soundtrack rattles on in a minimalistic way, the pattern’s twitchy dance is submerged in various warm hues such as yellow, pink, light green and light blue, which in a different rhythm and to a more agreeable music could be perceived as the signature of slightly retro psychedelia.

Along with vegetable and sea life, the camera is but one element of a sensual ride along a coastal road and playground in this masterful short.

Portrait of Costa da Morte (coast region in Galicia, Spain) from an ethnographic and landscape level, exploring also the collective imagination associated with the area. A region marked by strong oceanic feeling dominated by the historical conception of world's end and with tragic shipwrecks. Fragmentary film that approaches to the anthropological from its protagonists: sailors, shellfish, loggers, farmers ... A selection of characters representative of the traditional work carried out in the countryside in the region, allowing us to reflect on the influence of the environment on people.

Saturated colors and X-ray imagery swirl and bounce through wide eyed and frantic characters in a play of animation techniques, video overlays and stylized trippy imagery. An original experimental animation utilizing both stop motion and digital techniques to create mesmerizing sequences.

Things become shrouded when The Loner discovers a dead body outside his home. His mind becomes a prison of contradiction, falsification and fear when a series of dreams push him to realize the truth.

Executed and printed with two hands, that is to say, made using all possible means of imprinting the right and arm freshly applied ink, sand paper, stamps, etc. Everything was done on non-emulsion clear leader.

Procedurally-generated frames slowly expand in density to visually explore the mind of a psychopathic, narcissistic teenager, up until the demise of the subject.

Ensemble for Somnambulists was a film Maya Deren made while teaching a workshop at the Toronto Film Society. It was never completed, and is officially "unpublished," but this title has been restored and it screens occasionally along with her other films. Whatever happens, there will be fireworks!
