On a journey from darkness into light, a man explores his failings as a human being.

Two friends doggedly build a mysterious artefact in the forest, the function of which remains unclear until the very end. INSIDE starts with a shot of a burnt tree stump in a forest. Materials are gathered. What are the various branches, stones and pieces of grass for and what will the silent activities lead to? INSIDE slowly uncovers an act of human solidarity. The camera hovers around two boys, ramping up the tension, and is supported by an excellent soundtrack.

Leon lives with his mother Ilona in an apartment tenement. Their life is simple, but they have each other. But as a neighbor transitions to something more, right under Leon’s nose, he feels the need to let his feelings known.

Budapest in the thirties. The restaurant owner Laszlo hires the pianist András to play in his restaurant. Both men fall in love with the beautiful waitress Ilona who inspires András to his only composition. His song of Gloomy Sunday is, at first, loved and then feared, for its melancholic melody triggers off a chain of suicides. The fragile balance of the erotic ménage à trois is sent off kilter when the German Hans goes and falls in love with Ilona as well.

In order to maintain strict population levels, any newborn is only permitted to live if another person's life is traded in and a receipt issued. Edward K. Wehling, Jr. sits in Chicago Lying-In Hospital waiting for the birth of his triplets, except he has no receipts to collect them.

"The Crow" - During the meaningless war years, a new lifestyle emerged in Lebanon : neither capitalist nor socialist. A military lifestyle. A whole generation of Lebanese were born and raised in war climate as a result of their inclination towards death and confusion. This generation does not imagine another life. The sounds of automatic fireworks are mixed with the sounds of folk instruments at every holiday or family celebration.

For his 11th birthday, Felix' mother gives him money that he can spend however he wants. More than anything else in the world, Felix wants the soccer ball with the autograph of Cristiano Ronaldo. But the older boys tell him that turning 11 means that you will have to lose your virginity and that local girl Sisse is the right girl to help him - if he can pay.

In a realm beyond the senses, plants interact with surreal cinematography to chart the course of our character: an entity said to embody the life and work of Felisberto Hernández, Uruguayan father of magical realism. Through this journey, we are confronted with an open-ended experience questioning the nature of musicality versus cinematography, entity versus aberration, and self versus space, in a self-referential, blurry, digital and mystical setting.

The story is set during the early 1980s in a small town in rural Spain. El Chiqui is a talented young man about to debut in the local bullring, expected to continue the legacy of his family name. But that is not what he truly wants. His secret relationship with a young man from the town, Nicolás, offers an escape from the village, leaving the family pressures behind.

The pair of mannequins in the mattress section seem the ideal couple: Handsome, elegant and perfect. But when the mall closes and the lights go out, things are quite different.

What keeps us apart? What holds us together?

The short film was made from material shot for a Levi’s commercial on which Gus Van Sant was given complete freedom. Van Sant delivered the ad, and separately made his own short film; one that feels complete in and unto itself. Preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2016.

THE WHITE DOOR, starring Giovanni Ribisi, is a more realized version of the Beck 'Lonesome Tears' music video from three years prior and now a love story.

"After crossing paths with a terminally-ill mad scientist who's supposedly discovered the key to switching bodies, a suicidal call center agent must decide whether or not to shorten his life." From Cleveland State University's School of Film & Media Arts, this 30 minute Dark Comedy/Science Fictional story was first conceptualized by Cinematographer, Greg Pace, during the height of the Covid-19 Pandemic. Wanting it to come to fruition, Greg handed off the script to Chan Cunningham, who would then become the Writer, Director, and Co-Producer of the student lead thesis project.
