Overview
In the Fall of 1940, the entire population of Friar, New Hampshire walked together up a winding mountain trail and into the wilderness. Without warning, they left behind everything: their homes, their clothes, and their money. The only clue where they went was a single word etched into stone near the forest’s edge: YELLOWBRICKROAD.
Reviews
Deeply surreal at times, and unsettling throughout, I think this is an overlooked movie. Sometimes it meanders, and you might lose track, but it is part of the appeal, and the plight of the characters is real, and feels very viceral. I liked the spookiness of this, as opposed to "cheaper" jumpscares this could just as easily have been. I think it is to be applauded that they restrained themselves.
