The young serf Eremey Mizgir is surrendered as a soldier by his mistress for his mischievous tricks. Mizgir ends up in St. Petersburg in the guards regiment. Resourceful, quick-witted, cheerful, he easily copes with his official duties and, although he often gets punished by the sergeant-major for his pranks, he never loses heart. But then sad news came from the village: the old people’s cow had died, and Eremey’s bride Dunya was being relentlessly pursued by the clerk. The soldier felt sad. Standing on guard at the rich, diamond-studded icon of the Kazan Mother of God and thinking about how to help the elderly and the bride, Mizgir decides to take a desperate step. He breaks the glass of the icon and picks out a large gemstone from the aureole of the Mother of God. When the loss is discovered, Mizgir, without blinking an eye, announces that the Mother of God herself gave him the stone.

They're the hit of the party, and Honey is embraced by the 'smart set.' Meanwhile, business is bad and Skinner loses his job. The tailor is after him for payment on the suit, and Honey is still spending the salary he doesn't have.

Set in Spanish colonial Philippines. Pedro is tasked to wed a wife whilst his activist friend is considering him to join the revolution. Through a raunchy and campy path of winning the love of his life, Pedro is met with a daunting revelation.

Sergius, a student in Paris, is called upon to ascend the throne of Deliria, and the Duke of Onnandoff comes to announce the fact accompanied by his beautiful young Duchess. The Prince, however, has gone off for a night's merrymaking in Paris, and at a popular cafe he meets and falls in love with a beautiful ex-dancer, who is none other than the Duchess of Onnandoff, who is paying a surreptitious visit to the scene of her former triumphs. A group of conspirators who wish to prevent Sergius ascending the throne, lure him to the house of the Delirian Ambassador where they intend to keep him prisoner. The young Duchess caught in a heavy shower, is given shelter at the house by the Ambassador's footman. Here she learns of the plot against the youth with whom she has spent a charming evening, and it is her wit and ingenuity that upset the plans of the conspirators and enable Sergius to secure his crown.

The film consists of a series of tightly interlinked vignettes, the most sustained of which details the story of a man and a woman who are passionately in love. Their attempts to consummate their passion are constantly thwarted, by their families, by the Church and bourgeois society in general.
