The children don't really know whether they are Turkish or German. From the nomadic tent near Malatya, the filmmakers follow their son Emre Yilmaz to grammar school in Berlin-Wilmersdorf.

What does it look like behind the curtains of old and sick people in the big city of Berlin? How important is it that someone comes by from time to time, not only to change a bandage, but also to talk. We meet sprightly war widows, lonely old and sick people and a former rock star who is now in a wheelchair.
