After his wife's murder, widow Wong A Ping sets up a Peace Hotel to act as a sanctuary for anyone who needs protecting. One day a mysterious women shows up who seeks shelter from a gang hunting her. The cast is great but the meandering story and overuse of 'blur-fu' (obligatory in HK cinema at the time) make this a less than stellar 'farewell' film from Chow Yun-Fat to Asian film-making.
Of course, he would be back five years later with CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON
